    Default out of hours fees

We are open from 8am - 6pm. We have been asked if we would be available from 7.45am. How much should we charge for unsociable hours. Thank you.

I personally wouldn't bother with the 15 minutes before your usual working hours. I too say unsociable hours before 8 (time and a quarter) but in practice it's not worth the extra few pence. It's more for people who want 7:30 or earlier.

I wouldn't bother charging for extra 15min either. If its a new contract then maybe I'd add a little extra charge but if its a parent I already have contract with I would leave it as it is.

I would charge 30 mins of my normal rate , this is just in case they did turn up at 7-30

15 mins for 5 days is 1.15 hrs...multiply that x 52 weeks is 59.8 hrs...can you afford to work all those hours for nothing?
you could also charge pro-rata...totally your choice

I charge £5 per half an hour prior to 8am. And I calculate to the next half an hour. Although I have also done it for one parent where instead of contracting 8-6 I have done 7.30-5.30. It means an earlier finish for me! xx

I charge £5 per hour out of my hours. I do have 7 and 7.30 starts so do it to 30 mins. I have a parent who started 8-4.30 but needed to change to 7.45-4.15. It wasn't worth the hassle for the extra few pence for the 15 mins so just amended the times. The goodwill gesture is something to consider also.
