Default What do others charge for food??

    hi
Would others please let me know what they charge for lunch and evening meals. Just to give me some idea.

My mindee has just started with me, she is 4 years old.
Her mum works till 6pm, 2 weeks a month so gets here at 6.15 ish
My own kids eat at approx 5pm, and by then her little tummy is rumbling (They do leave her snacks like rice cakes, raisins etc
They povide the food to make a sandwich for her lunch, I top that up with fruit, vegtables sticks, and a yoghurt etc

Monday night she just sat and stared at my 2 eating so I gave her some of theirs.
I fed her tues & wed night as well. It was all eaten, she finished before my two, they are almost 7 & 10..
I didnt want to provide food to the mindees, but me being soft hearted cant let her just sit and watch mine eat.
I told dad that those two weeks I would provide tea but I will charge extra, he agreed now I have to work out a cost..
    Please help Mandy

I charge about £1.50 for a hot dinner and £1.00 for sandwich and youghurt but this also includes juice and fruit for snack time.
Another way round it if the family all want to eat together at home is to give her cheese on toast after school and then hopefully she won't be as hungry when your own children eat.

    I charge

    £1 - Breakfast
    £1.30 - Lunch
    £2.50 - Tea

I only charge so much for tea as I really dont want to provide it!

I only provide 3 mindees with lunch, the others bring packed lunches and I dont do any dinners or breakfasts.

    Thanks All for replying,

The cheese on toast is a good idea, I'll suggest that to dad when I see him next and in the meantime I'm gonna charge £2, as with some others I dont really want to do food.
She goes to school full time in January so she can have a hot meal lunch time at school and a packed tea here..

    thanx again

I don't charge any extra for lunch or tea for mindees who are with me all day.

After-schoolers pay £1.25 towards tea if they want it.

But if food prices keep going up I'll be looking at that again

I don't provide meals at the moment.

I was prepared to do lunches but I've decided against it now due to the rising cost of food, etc.

Plus, there's no way I'm ever going to provide dinner, I plan to always finish at 5.00pm, 5.30pm latest and dinner for me is a family time.

My food cost is in my daily charge. I give 5 fruit and veg a day and all different types, and buying them fresh all the time aint cheap! I will put my charges up slightly when contracts need refreshing.

Debs, I would reassess that when your parents are due their increase perhaps...? Sounds way too little if you haven't factored it in.

I don't charge the parents extra for food, it is included in my fee.

But of course I do put down what I spend on food in my expenses/tax return.

I don't charge for breakfast, snacks or lunch and I never used to do dinner (tea). My daughter eats at 6 when the last mindees have gone but I have a new little girl who is here til 7:30 so they eat dinner together and I charge £1.50.

we only do teas ofr childre nwho are staying till 5pm or after. as if the parents are coming before 5pm its too much of a rush to make the tea and get them to eat it
