Default Do you charge for half/quarter hours?

    Hello,

I have a couple of children who come on an ad-hoc basis. The contracts they have state they pay for the hours the child is with me, with a minimum of five hours per day.

The problem is one of the children is regularly here for five and a quarter hours. The parent seems to think I won't bother to charge for the quarter (or half hours) as it would be a hassle to work out.

I just wondered what other people charge for partial hours as I think I will have to re word their contract to ensure I am being paid properly.

If someone was here for 15 min later than the contracted time I would class that as they are collecting late and would ask them if they want to change their times .....failing that I would tell them I'm charging my overtime fee which would be more

All those 15 min add up

I charge per 15 mins or part thereof. Early drop offs rounded down to nearest 15 mins and late collections rounded up to the nearest 15 mins. I also have in my payments policy that I consider myself working from the time they arrive until the time they leave and charge accordingly if outside contracted hours.

I charge in half hours. I do give parents 10 minutes grace to collect, ( but don't tell them! ) if they keep pushing the 10 minutes, then I ask if they wish to extend their hours, or I start charging them for the extra half hour. if its after 6pm, then it is double fee.

I'm currently registering but I'm planning on charging for "lateness" at £5 per 15 minutes. If its prearranged then to the nearest hour.

I charge per 15 mins too and set my fee so it's easy enough to work that out.

Yes I do now! I have a mindee who is contracted for 6 and a half hours, 2 days a week. So I always charged the parent for 13 hrs a week . About a yr ago or so I noticed that the 15 minutes late (which I let slide) started turning into 30-45 mins. Then I added up those extras and it worked out I was losing quite a bit!!
