    Default Fees throughout the year?

    Hi
I am currently in the process of becoming a registered childminder, i was just wondering what we as childminders have to pay out through the year, things like your liability insurance, keeping first aid up to date every 3 years, what else is there that i might have over looked

    Thank you

I'd advise you have a 'float' for things you may need during the year/ months. You may need to replace equipment or cash for arts and crafts or trips so a little but in your business account is a good idea.

I find one of my biggest costs is ink for my printer. I know it is an ongoing cost but it can add up to a lot over the year.

Tell me about it, I'm not even registered yet and throughout my course I think I've been through 3 sets of ink cartridges and they're not cheap! xx

Ink is definitely a big expense for me too and the art stuff. My Insurance with NICMA is £110 a year and do seem to get nearly all my courses free somehow

    Thanks everyone

I want to make sure i leave enough money in the account for all these bits, thought its best to ask everyone so i didnt miss anything. Good idea to budget for the ink i remember how much i got through when i home schooled my children, its not something i had thought about
