Default how much would you charge for childminding from Tuesday evening to friday night ?

    hello,
Last week I ended up looking for a child ( 2 1/2) from tues night to friday night non stop( not planned: emergency childminding)
no idea how much to charge. He usually stays from 9 am to 5 pm which is paid for but how much extra should I ask for 5pm to 9 am ( 3 times)??
    any ideas please?

    I honestly don't know.

Are the parents expecting to pay did you give them any sort of indication of what you would charge?

yes, they ask me how much they owe me for helping out all this time. I usually charge £4.50 per hour but never did night before.

Yes probably am. I just try and be affordable but I do feel they take advantage of that fact!

I charge £50 overnight when they go to bed and either side of this I would charge "outside of minded hours" as specified on the contract

I have done this once. I charge £3.50 from 8am till 6pm and £6 from 6pm to 8am. The lo was with me from 7am monday till 8am friday when I dropped her to school. The parents were more than happy with that but it was all about an open discussion with mum.

I would suggest you actually talk things through with them and reach an outcome you are all happy with. We can all suggest what we would do but if its out of their reach financially its potentially going to cause an issue.

I had a 16mth from sat morning until Tues night. I charged my hourly rate from 7am until 7pm and then £50.00 per night (7pm till 7am). They ended up paying about £340!! which sounds a lot but was hard work. I earnt every penny!!!. x

all done! asked for £50 per night ( included all extra hours) ; realise now it is a bit cheap but too late.
