    Default shift workers

I had an enquiry today from a lady who needs a childminder for her LO. It would be 2 days a week (various days) including some weekends. How would you charge for that. The two days she needs me would be 10hrs a day so quite a lot of hours and I feel that if I ask for retainer for the days child isn't with me she'll say its too expensive but at the same time child is taking a full space so I dont want to be out of pocket. I'm confused. What to do??

    Default advice

Hi I only have shift workers, you need to be really sure as its takes full time space and some week's your day off will be in week, I charge min charge per month to cover full time space of 100 hours even if they don't use all the hours at higher rate than normal 9-5 child (2GBP more per hour) covers shift allowance for working weekend's most shift workers find hard to get childcare as funny hours and weekends in Rota they get extra pay so as cm should do too, I also get 4 week's paid holiday. I have had no one complain in fact I turn work away as word got around.
    Hope this helps.
