    Default charges for overnight

    Have just been asked to have 18month little girl for long weekend (4 nights) she is usually with me until 6pm, so from 6pm until 7am not sure what to charge, maybe half my hourly rate, any help and advice would be much appreciated guys. (I am registered to have overnightees)

    I would charge more for overnight care especially the hours between 6 and bedtime and from about 7 in the morning when they are likely to wake.

    In the past I have charged about £40 a night as I never sleep well when I have little ones staying overnight - I hear every sigh or cough on the baby monitor - parent's say they sleep through but then you remember all those mornings when they have dropped mindees off, saying "X had me up 3 times in the night".

    Don't forget that you aren't supposed to have a drink if you are having mindees overnight, also make sure that if you have friends round at the weekend that no one goes upstairs to use the toilet while little one is asleep to avoid allegations being made about people who may not have crb check being unsupervised.

    overnight care- complicated isn't it.....

    I would charge my 'unsociable' hourly rate from the time she normally left until 7pm, then my block amount for 12 hours until 7am, then my 'unsociable' hourly rate until her normal start time. In my contracts weekend work would also be classed as 'unsociable' because I don't normally work weekends. so I would charge;
    4.50€ per hour normal time 6.75€ per hour unsociable rate 50€ for 12 hours 7pm-7am (NOTE- I don't live in UK so work in euro's not pounds sterling...)

    hope that makes sense.....
    God Bless xx T
