Default TTO contracts: retainers and my holidays

Hello, quick question regarding TTO contracts with a retainer in place to hold the space during the holidays.
If I take my holiday during the school holiday, do they pay the retainer right through the school holidays, or do you deduct for the time you are off? I'm assuming I'd need to deduct my holiday time as I'd be unavailable for work?

If you are not available I dont think you can charge a retainer so i would say you just take your holidays off.

I would say if they are TTO they are paying to retain the space for when they return to school not paying a retainer just in case they need to come during the school break so if that were the case they would pay it whether you are available or not. (But I could be completely wrong )

It all depends on what you discussed with parents and what is on the contract. If you said the retainer was incase they wanted to come in holidays then I guess you can not charge.

I don't charge if tt only but do a higher hourly rate. I don't see how if you did you could charge if not available for your hols but depends on your contracts an charges

I charge full fee for their hols as I am still open but no fee for mine. Works out well as most my children tt only and I take most my hols in hols so doesn't really effect anyone (just 1 family who have most hols off anyway)

Thanks for the replies. It only affects one family and I think there'd be a slim chance of them needing care during the hols as one is a teacher, but you never know. I'll deduct my holiday from the August invoice when the time comes. Today they've asked for a permanent extra day from next week too!
