Default How would you price this?

I have had an enquiry for after school care only for just over 1 hour for 2 children. The parent wants 3 days but I can only do 1 day and she said that was fine as family would help out. The children are in an after school club the other 2 days which doesnt have space for more than that. After finding out the price I can see why! They only charge £3.75. My normal charge would be £5 until 4pm and £10 until 6pm and the latter would include tea. As the children would be staying until around 4.40pm I would have to give them tea with everyone else as I serve it around 4.15pm. I feel if I say £20 and shes used to paying £7.50 she will think I'm a rip off merchant! But if I say £10 its not worth my while going to a different school and having the hassle of 2 more. What would others do?

Charge your normal rate £20 for the two children.

Your right, it has to be financially beneficial for you, your not a charity, neither are you subsidized like most after school clubs. You may be surprised by the parents response, I wouldn't expect to pay anything less for after school care and tea.

Don't undersell yourself and don't do it cheaper because I can guarantee that she will drop you as soon as an after school club place becomes available.
Your not there to do favours.

Thanks, I've just got back to her and said £15 for both without tea and £17.50 with tea so we will see what happens!

I look after brother and sister from 6.30 and dont charge any extra for it. Having got more experience now i would definately charge double for the first hour.
