    Default Should I refund?

I have just become accredited as a family asked me if I would. As part of the criteria I have to go on a course which is 3hrs but an hours drive away 6pm-9pm.

Taking rush hour traffic into consideration I will be finishing work at 4.50pm on the day. I have notified all concerned and they will need to pick up their children early.
The family who asked me to do the FEEE have 3 children and usually attend until 6pm. I was just going to amend their bill but actually thinking now that I should leave it and still charge them because it was them that wanted me to do this in the first place.

Would you charge or refund the hour?
Time Out.. The perfect time for thinking about what you're going to destroy next.

I would charge and if they query it say, i'm only doing the course because you asked me to become accredited and judge their reaction
the decide if you want to refund.

This is what I would do although they would have to kick up quite a fuss for me to refund. They will be saving a lot of money thanks to you doing this so should be appreciative of this hopefully.

Well, the individual family will benefit from your accreditation, but then so will your business. So really, it's as broad as it's long.

This is why some CMs include paid training days within their contracts, so probably something we should all heed.
