    Default After school clubs

Hi, I have a few parents that want me to collect children from after school clubs and have them till parents can collect from me, my question is do I charge from when I collect or from end of school? I need to go up at 3.30 for my own child plus one other and then take them up at 4.30 to collect the others. What do all you do with school club pick ups?

Hi have a good think about this because it's ok now that's it's nice weather but do you really want to drag the other children up when it's raining or snowing? and it will interrupt your afternoon anyway if you have just got in yourself only to go out again in a but.

I have never been asked to do it and wouldnt. Some children have stayed for after school clubs but parents have made other arrangements as they have said themselves its not fair on me or other children. They have always paid to keep place open as at our school they only run every half a term and the children have to reapply and if its a popular club then others are given a chance. Also the club can be cancelled at short notice, then you would be expected to collect the children

I personnally don't collect from after school clubs as it would be to much toing and frowing. Our school finishes at 3-15 and 3-25, never out on time, after school clubs finish at 4.30. I normally arrive home at 4pm so would have to turn round once at home to go back and collect club children!

It's not only the time element of getting there and back but what about other mindees pick up times and also tea times??

i do a late collection from clubs one day a week, BUT i don't collect at normal pick up time! so everyone HAS to do a club!

i charge from when the school finishes, because if there isn't club one week, then i need to be available!

Thanks everyone, My problem is I live in a small village and can only pick up from local school. I compete with a nursery, playgroup and at school they have a morning and after school club, so if I were to say I wont pick up from the afterschool sports/music etc clubs I know the parents will send them to the kid stop club at the school. Its hard enough to fill my under 5 spaces at the moment. Must admit last term I didnt charge for one child that went to football club till 4.30 only charged for when I collected him, but have just seen all the free clubs school do every day and know for sure parent will send them there first and then get me to collect, so am now going to charge from normal school time LOL

Must start to get tougher with how I charge people. What I have read here my prices are way cheap!!!!!
