    Default First parents visit

Had my first parents today woooooohooooo, although Ive worked with another childminder for 10yrs this was my first visit at my house on my own, I was quite nervous!!!
Think it went well, they seemed interested but the bugbare was they only want term times, I said I'd charge a retainer and apparently the Childminder they visited yesterday said she wouldnt charge one. They said they preferred me and I was closer etc. So now do I stick to my guns????
    Any advise please guys?

Difficult one especially if you want to secure the contract - you could offer them a tto only place but with a higher hourly rate than usual to make up the short fall from not having a retainer in the holidays - no difference in money for you but to them they are not paying for something they're not using

I have quite a few children tto and it works well for me , I pro rata their money so they pay the same money every month but they are happy as they don't have to pay for care they don't need/ use and then I am perfectly within my rights to give that place out to another child during hols. HTH
