    Default Holiday fees

    Hi,
I only mind before and after school. With all my parents I do a term time only contract. Then I have a separate contract for the holidays that I want to work and they can choose whether to use me or go elsewhere. This is the first holiday that I have worked and I based my terms & fees on our childrens centre playscheme and priced myself at 50% of my usual rates to compete with the playscheme. This has given me about the right about of business for me this holiday. However I have realised that I don't want to work every holiday at the same reduced fees especially as the playscheme doesn't open every holiday so I wouldn't be in competition with them. Now I'm not sure what to do about it and how to market my holiday places and how to justify the price hike. -The main issue is, if only 1 child comes to me in the holidays at that reduced rate I would rather not work at all!

Any ideas of how to handle this would be greatly appreciated? -There's so much to learn!!!

I would just say to parents that you've revised your fees for holiday care so from whatever date you next choose to work they will be xxxxxx.

Tell them your accountant stated that it is not financially viable to charge this way in the holidays

I blame a lot on my accountant or Ofsted

    Hi there,

I don't think you should see yourself as having to compete with the Playscheme, afterall you are offering a different service.

My fees are the same regardless of whether it's term time or not.

    Claire
