Default Fees - to advertise or not to advertise?

Apologies in advance if this question has already been asked, I'm pre-registered and am thinking about what sort of information I should include in my advertising.

The Northamptonshire Childminding Association webite suggests that CM's shouldn't advertise their fees - but instead discuss fees when meeting in person with parents (so you can explain more about what is included etc).

However, when I look around at other childminders websites / adverts, many do include details of their fees.

Can I ask what everyone else has done? Do you advertise your fees or not (and why?) Thanks.

    Anna

    I don't tend to.
I prefer a parent to contact me and ask about what I have to offer before judging me on my fees

same here. i also tell parents that the fees depend on their needs - (hours/days/weeks/termtime only/holiday only etc )

I never used to include my fees when advertising but I have started putting them on. I was getting lots of people ringing and emailing asking what my fees were and they never replied again. So for me its saved a bit of my time replying to them!

I put my fee on, but it is very general.

My fees start from £4 per hour depending on needs of the family .......

On my leaflet that I give parents when they visit I state that my fees are £4-4.50 per hour.
