I like the outings 3.64 the risk assessmnet does not necessarily need to be in writing, this is for providers to judge

Ok... yes... so say you took the children to the farm and judged that you didn't need to write a RA.

The inspector says ... you are wrong, you did need to write one.

You say... but I am using my judgement.

The inspector says... I am using mine and you are wrong

A friend spotted something interesting in the Development Matters document...

    Are you ready for this..?

it says that we should have books depicting same sex parents and kings & queens with disabilities and invite male midwives and female fire fighters to talk to the children!

Best get onto Amazon then... don't forget to use the forum link!

Well know we watched the King's Speech the other night. Better get a copy of that and Mad King George to add to the mindees library, when I have checked copy right of course

I believe one of the Queen's grandchildren is deaf but so far removed in the succession that they would be unlikely to become a King or Queen. Of course one of the Queen's children would come under the same sex parent category.

I really don't like buying books for the sake of it - I like to get good stories!

Perhaps that's why I feel so down on the EYFS then - I got it for teh sake of having to have it!

Wasn't there a documentary a while ago about the Queens Mother's cousins locked up in an institution? I must get a copy of this to show the children.

    Sensible...

I've just spent nearly an hour on the phone to the Information Commissioners Office trying to clarify the Freedom of Information Act requirement...

Which... they tell me... is a mistake as it only applies to public bodies

I am not sure I can do sensible for a while

I too am hoping and praying that Sarah707 comes in and saves the day like she has done with all my other problems.

Once she has read it 1 or 6 times and got her head around it I am sure she will produce a document that is in plain English which we all understand.

There are no planned training in my area as of yet but I hope there is something soon!

Seem's to me it's just the same old story. The new revised EYFS inspections will be inspectors reading from different hymn books. Nothing has changed much!
