Question How to set it out??

Do you all have seperate sections in your learning journal for each area?

The problem Im having is not all my obs just cover one area. would it be ok just to put them into date order?

Do you all have the learning grids at the beginning of your LJ'S?
    Then starting points

    Thanks
    Now the fun begins

Mine are in month order, so obs and planning for each month sits together. I find this way I can see a clear progression of abilities.

However, it really is up to you to work out how your LJs work best!!

Mine are all in date order with the recent at the front, and I have a grid at the front showing which stage they are working in at the moment for all the different aspects, and instead of a tick I put in the date of the observation which shows the evidence, so I can quickly flick through to see the actual obs sheet that contains all the details. It works well for me and Ofsted liked it.

I think sandcastles is referring to the areas of L & D from the Eyfs CD which can be printed, so each child has their own copy.

It makes life much easier when you are doing obs, assessments, planning etc as they are there for quick reference.

Thanks Sarah - you are correct, I print the areas of learning and development just for their age, so I don't have to keep refering back to the big EYFS book. I print out the pages from the EYFS CD.

    Does that help?

Click on the index file, then look in top right hand corner for 'search areas of learning and development' this takes you to next page, click 'all stages' and then select the age you want.

    Hope this helps
