WHAT IS HOT AT THE MOMENT WITH OFSTED AND EYFS

We have received letters in our area this morning saying there are a few hot topics to concentrate on with your inspections

They are ...........

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Ofsted want to see that you have identified with your parents, who have " Parental responsibility " for the children for whom you care.
This could be added to the " Childs Record Form " but make sure someone ( usually the mother ) with parental responsibility has signed it
( See Safeguarding page 23 of your Statuory Framework - half way down the page )

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT
Also please see the next line on the same page above where it says "Written permission must be requested, at the time of admission to the provision to the seeking of any necessary emergency medical advice or treatment in the future)

RISK ASSESSMENTS
These are mentioned on pages 21, 24, 33, 40 and other pages of your statuory framework. You can download information for this from the Bromley website www.bromleycma.org.uk

Please pay attention to the above and save those actions

My medical policy states that i must have PRIOR permission to administer any medication provided by the parents either bought or prescribed. Just made sure the word PRIOR is on everything even the permission forms themselves!
