Default Toys and resources under EYFS

I am just taking advantage of two sleeping children to update my toys and resources lists, putting them under the headings of the EYFS.

I have sorted out plenty for most of the headings but am struggling a little bit on Communication Language and Literacy. So far I only have books and a puppet theatre!! Now it is Monday and brain isnt totally back into gear after a very busy weekend, so any help would be great.

I'm not hot on it either but I also have:

    alphabetical jigsaws
    games - lotto, alphabet bingo
    dvd/tv

its hard really as whatever they are doing if they are talking about it with others then it falls under this.

I did one sheet with all the EYFS outcomes and put the toys and resources in the middle. Then highlighted which areas they cover - most of them overlap each area so it is all on one sheet. If the inspector asks, which I doubt, I will split it up for her verbally.

Is this a requirement? I, nor any of my childminding buddies have done this. I wouldn't know where to start.

Its not a requirement, its just that is shows that you have resources to cover the 6 areas. I was updating my toy/resource list and decided to do it that way.

This sounds a very good idea to me. Just wish I had enough time to put all these ideas into practise. This site is brilliant for ideas.

    Hi

Can I ask what you have for ICT? I'm assuming it's things like remote control cars, but what about for babies?

    Thanks,
    Linda.

ICT for babies can be alomst anything that has a battery, so that could be a book that has interactive sounds or a bus with sounds etc...
