Default EYFS news i have reicieved

    Hi All

I went on a course this evening about observation planning and assessment with my training co-ordinator under the new EYFS

I was informed that you do not need to record everything under the EYFS
Just as you usually do daily diaries, photographs and observation.
You only need to do one observation and write a little note eg
Cane has managed to climb up and down rope when came down he had a smile on his face and praised his self by clapping his hands
If anyone would like to see the information i recieved from it tonight please ask and i will send it by email eventually when i can copy it on
    Hope that helps anyone

Thanks for the info, I've just had a call from Ofsted to tell me they will inspect me shortly & definately before xmas (joy!) but I have not yet had any EYFS training from my area so I'm really not sure if i'm doing enough. I'd really appreciate you sharing the info if you can, I'm not sure how I send you my email address though??

A few well-worded sentences can tell more abut a child's progress than reems of paper. Toss in a few photos as well and you have a fantastic learning journey!
Why is "phonics" not spelled the way it sounds?

Sorry, might be a stupid question, but do you have to be registered BEFORE you can go on EYFS training? or does it depend on your area?
Just feel that i could do with some training on the EYFS whilst i'm in the middle of registering.

I've tried to send you a message but it says you need to clear some space? I will then hopefully send you a message with my email address as I would be glad of the info - I haven't had any training yet.

I did a four week EYFS training course that started in the last fortnight of my ICP/DHC.

We were told that we were eligible to go along as pre-reg minders, so its definitely worth a try finding out where there is training near you and giving them a ring to see if you can do it.
