School children Ratios
Hi, can someone please confirm ratios for school age children please? For those children that are 4yrs old and just starting school reception in September. Are they counted in the eyfs ratios until the sept after their 5th birthday? So I can only have 3 of these children. Or do they count in the older ratios? Thankyou

I was under the impression that they counted in your older ratios. That is what I've been doing. In the 5-8 age group.

Whilst they are with EYFS until they reach the September after their 5th birthday once they are in full-time school they can be classed as in the 5-8 age group for childminding ratios.
They have to be in fulltime school, not part time settling in sessions, so in school both mornings and afternoons. x

When children are in full time 10 sessions a week school they are 5 for our ratios - regardless of whether they are 4 or 5.
It's stated in the Eyfs.
So we can bring a new early years child in as soon as they are in full time school
