    Smile EYFS and own children

    HI, im new here!
Just waiting to take my course to become a childminder in cambridgeshire, I have previous experience with childminding but not since I have had children.

Do i have to complete documentation etc for EYFS for my own children or just other children I mind?

    TIA

    Hi and welcome

You at only required to do EYFS for minded children. They are included in numbers though.

although we don't have to, I did 'do' EYFS for my own children ... initially as my 'guinea pigs' and then it was useful to be able to share their LJ with prospective parents!

I also felt that if my own children saw me taking photos and scribbling down things about the minded children, I didn't want them to feel they were 'missing out' or were 'less special' than any minded child ( as I know that minders own children often get put at the bottom of the list ( just because that's the way it is ). I also liked doing it and knowing where they were/what they doing!

Thanks for that, as Im only just starting out I think i might do it with my lb to show what I will do, we already take alot of photos and my lg is at a playgroup where she has her eyfs done, although im sure shell feel left out if i dont do one for her too. And definately a good idea to show prospective parents especially as i can only do 1 minded child during the day unless i fill in hours my lg is at playgroup.

Thanks again for your help x
