    Default Observation help needed

    Hi,

Hope no-one minds but just need some help on observations/next steps.

15m old gas started walking....what would next steps be?

Also same 15m old today for the 1st time copied some actions to a music class we attend. Where does it fit and again what are the next steps.

TIA - brain gone blank, feeling rough with a rotten cold.....roll on the long weekend lol

Walking - Physical - he will do next steps by himself, will be things like walking faster, walking while carrying an object, eventually running - it is nice to document these "firsts" but makes me soooooo cross that we have to put a next step for something which happens naturally - otherwise you will be encouraging the child to run before he can properly walk! You could encourage his to walk on different surfaces eg: grass, bark, gravel to improve balance.

Copying actions - physical again plus art & design (exploring & using media & materials) - begins to move to music
plus C & L (listening & attention) moves whole bodies to sounds they enjoy

Hope you get over your cold soon.

Remember there does not need to be a next step for every observation you do.

you could say you will encourage and support childs walking to help them become more confident and to become more balanced by giving the child lots of space to explore and practise their news skills
