Default Child here for one hour a day?

How much paperwork do I need to be doing? I 'specialise' in schoolies really, but I'm taking on a new child as from next week who is 4 yrs old, but in nursery. I will only have her from 7.30am until 8.30 when I drop her to nursery. Nothing really going on apart from breakfast and a bit of play!

I know with the revised EYFS, that I no longer need to do obs, planning etc for reception children, because it's wraparound care, but does this apply to a child in nursery too if it's just wraparound care?

So long since I did obs etc!

It doesn't apply to nursery children no - only to schoolies.

However, for an hour a day you aren't looking at the child doing much beyond meeting their care needs.

What I'd do is to get parents to write down that they want me to allow their child to chill and eat and relax etc... then write up the child's routine linking it to the EYFS... then just add the odd photo etc when the child does something new or different or special.

    thanks Sarah

I was also wondering if I needed to work with the nursery? I had such trouble before trying to get the school to work with me, I'm not sure I want to start all over again with a nursery! Obviously, we would communicate at drop off, for example if mum needed me to tell nursery something. To me that would be working in partnership with them! But do I need to be getting stuff down in the learning journey if there is one?

I feel so lazy compared to all of you! I've not had to worry about any of this for about three years! I do a scrap book with artwork and photos for the schoolies, but nothing is planning etc. I'm hoping she will be going to the school I 'service' as it's next door to her nursery, so I am going to start a scrap book for her anyway and it would be lovely to have her at nursery age in it, if I did keep her all the way to year 6!
