    Default My new EYFS paperwork

I have tweaked and changed my paperwork to reflect the changes to the EYFS.

All my paperwork is colour coded

The prime and time sensitive areas are done in primary colours.

The Observation collection sheet - i have the old one laminated and on my wall. I use a different colour post it note for each child. I write the quick obs on the note and stick on the appropriate box. I know lots of obs cover more than one aspect but i find it handy to just write and stick, i then come back to it later and write it all up.

The Ongoing assessment sheets are the new EYFS done like my old assessment sheets but with the colours. Space to put evidence and dates.

Observation sheets - space for the ob, next steps and comments from parents. This also has a box so i can cross ref with the ongoing assessment sheets. (thats why there are numbers on the ongoing assessment sheets)

Ofsted loved my paperwork i had with the old EYFS and i have improved since starting my degree.

Yes i know the assessment sheets writing is small but even my old eyes can see it and i wanted to get as much on as little paper as possible.

    Enjoy

Right a few things sorry Im thick

The ongoing assessments, do they go into the child's LJ's and you just fill them in as and when the child reaches a goal?

The new obersvation sheet, how does that cross reference with the ongoing assessments it says for example PS&ED 1 2 3

    What are the 1 2 3's for?

I am absolutely confuzzled with what paperwork I need to change, as long as I don't have to change the entire LJ's that I have done so far?

I put these in the front of the LJs and cross ref the observation it corresponds with

Ok.. a baby looks towards mummy and smiles when she talks..if you look at the ongoing assessment sheet for 0-11 months PSED 1 is making relationships. the sub section would be number 4 Recognises main carers voice etc. So i would write up the observation. put the date of the obs on the assessment sheet with a heading for eg "watching mummy". The obs sheets box at the bottom i would choose PSED 1 and put the number 4 in the box underneath. There would be other learning and development areas this ob would come under so you may have a few boxes filled in and "watching mummy" may be written on a few areas of learning on the assessment sheets

    What are the 1 2 3's for?

Dont change what you have done so far. That was then...this is now. And you dont have to use my system. I have put it on here cos i know some found the old EYFS stuff i did helpful

and you are not being thick

    Hope all that helps!

Thank you for these, really helpful. I am hoping to find time this week to collate everything together and make a decision on how to make paperwork easier. These should help some way to do this. Thanks again.

That is fantastic! Really cheeky but I don't suppose you also have one for a 10 month old I could see do you? The system I use at present is long winded and involves loads of cross referencing over 7 pages of print,i've a newbie starting in September and i'd love to start an easier system with him in time for the new eyfs-yours looks perfect!

    what do you mean?

The assessment sheets cover all the age brackets. You pick the one your child is at and put that one in...then add the others as you go along. You can have one obs which might be covered on two age brackets especially when they overlap by quite a few months.
