Red face TRAINING FOR NEW EYFS ??

    hello,
I would like to do courses about new EYFS 2012. Can't find any of them around hertfortshire.
Any ideas if there are trainig in hertfordshire about it??
    what is supposed to change??
    - policies ? : I only know about mobile phone one , and parental permission.
    - is learning journey any different? obs? diary?..
    - I understand RA is not as strict and quite basic now
    - is EYFS grid the same ?
    - assessment for 2 years old

I probably have everything wrong anyway...

    thanks for helping

I downloaded all the documents from the Foundation Years team:
    http://www.foundationyears.org.uk/ea...on-stage-2012/

I also signed up for their e-newsletter updates.

I've booked on a training day for the new EYFS, but only really to get the certificate and put an entry in my CPD record.

Everyone I know who has done the training said it was incredibly dull, and contained nothing they hadn't already learnt by reading the actual documents. Clearly aimed at workers who couldn't be bothered to read the EYFS documents and thought someone else should do the work for them.

..... that'll be another few hours of my life I'll never get back.

There is loads of info on here, you need tosarch through the posts. Also some good paperwork in the free downloads that have been kindly donated by members and are incredibly professional.

There has been training all over Hertfordshire. I went on mine two weeks ago.

    http://www.hertsdirect.org/

Go to the above website, click on the A-Z option on the right hand side, click on Y for Young In Herts, Click on the top option Young in Herts Training and it brings up a menu showing all training in Herts for cms and setting there is also a number you can phone for help.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry didn't read all the answers and Playmate has already given the info.

I know! I was kept awake until 2am by a neighbour's party and then it kicked off again at 7am so I am not a happy fully functioning bunny this morning.

I am surprised you haven't seen this training as it is displayed on your local Authorities web site and always has been. When you first registered you would have had a folder sent to you each year with all the training dates for the year in.

You can also read the new EYFS and the Learning and Development part so you will see the Areas of Learning have changed!

Did mine last month and more being planned for Sept. All seems basic

Just go through your eyfs books and look at what is needed and see if it is in your policies.
