    Default advice before inspection

Hi all well had phone call inspector coming next thursday but she sent email and said i needed to add the following to my complaints policy and explain it!!!

You must refer to the possibility of a concurrent consideration of a complaint. This would occur when the complaint involved concurrent consideration by other statutory agencies in addition to the CSSIW for example Social Services or the Police.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN any advice would be great debbie

Sorry if I confuse you even more ......... Ive got a sheet that you write out its titled: How the complaint was dealt with - I am sure I came across this on the forum if you do a search you might come across it. It has tick boxes - I can post it to you in you message me your address.

It means - a complaint is made against you about (for example) safeguarding. As a result you are required to inform CSSIW who will investigate. You are also required to inform other agencies such as the Safeguarding Children Board (do you have those in Wales?) and the police.

Make your procedure clear about who you will contact, in what order and when.

Yes we do have them in Wales - if you contact your local CSSIW office they should give you numbers of your nearest LSCB which you need to put into your complaints policy/procedure.
