    Question SPACE THEME

    Hi

Wondered if anyone could help. Trying o find ideas of how to make spacemans outfit. My son has a universe day at school and thought a spaceman would be a good idea. Thought I would use a cereal box for the backpack covered with foil and tubes , buttons etc. Tried to search various sites for ideas of how this would look plus helmet but getting stuck. Would rather make something so he can help (5years old) think it will be fun instead of buying.
Any ideas on a astronaut or anything else for 'the universe?' Ideas appreciated.

    Thanks Kerrie x

I saw this on CBeebies a while ago.
they used a cereal box covered with foil, 2 old wahing up liquid bottles for the jet engines and the tops off plastic milk cartons fro knobs. It looked really good.
I'm sure there is something about a space theme in this issue of Who Minds?
Just found it on page 24/25.
they give this website for further activities www.kidsastronomy.com.
    Good luck, hope this helps

Thanks great site. Sadly I'm not registered with NCMA until Ofsted certificate comes through so can't get a copy of Who Minds yet. Never mind will keep looking.

Thanks again. Have put that website in my favourites.

If you could find a huge box you could make a huge space rocket. Might not turn out quite as good but I'm sure you could try. My two love playing with cardboard boxes.
