    Default entertaining the older child

    hi everyone

    does anyone have any ideas for entertaining older children
    i have been asked to look after a 9 year old boy after school and all my ideas are based around the pre-schoolers
    anything would be welcome

    Best thing to do is do a all about me sheet and ask him what he is into

    My 9yr old loves playing with the Lego, on the wii, drawing, cooking and playing with toy soldiers. He's into tall people and things so we are going to do some activities around height together using DHs tape measure.

    I just asked him what he played with at home and went from there with it.
    If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes

    brilliant - why didnt i think of those - i have lego and wii so theres a start - and i love the all about me sheet
    i also love being able to talk to others in the same situation as me - i no longer feel so isolated -well done every one and thankyou
