    Default OUR YUMMY CHOCOLATE CONKERS

These were really simple and even the youngest can help

To be honest I thought they sounded a bit yuk but they taste a bit like a truffle and the children and their parents loved them

    Ingredients

    You will need

    One packet of Bourbon biscuits
200g of full fat cream cheese
    200g of cooking chocolate

Break the biscuits up into a bowl, we used the back of a spoon, until they are very small crumbs , the cream mixes with it and its not messy at all

Then add the cream cheese and mix it up

Leave for a few hours or over night so they are nice and chilled

Melt chocolate and cover your conkers

Leave to set , they do not take long

Hey presto your very own little conkers

I saw this on nature detectives but wasn't sure how they'd turn out - yours look brilliant though so I'll give them a go.

I did these and they were a success. The little ones loved banging the biscuits with the spoon. The only disappointing thing was one parent said she will just throw them away when I said there was a couple in their bags and another parent sent two back

That's a real shame Lick'le Oaks, did you explain what ingredients you had used? Maybe they thought they really were chocolate coated conkers?
One of my older mindees trialled these yesterday when she was the last one here and I'm going to make them with the younger mindees later this week.

    Thanks for the recipe Angel!!

Thanks for this, myself and mindees did this last Friday - brilliant Got a bit messy though, but even more brilliant! My hubby pinched one and commented on how yummy they were. Only downfall was, my own DS and I made ourselves a bit sick licking out the bowl of melted chocolate afterwards...but it had to be done!

    Hels xx
