    Default Bakewell in a Bag

I think it has too much pastry if you follow the recipe, I only use half a packet. I'd not made it for ages but had some pastry left over today so made one. I also used a sandwich tin rather than the 'bag' method.

Golly I haven't made Bakewell for ages. We didn't have an oven ( or kitchen for that matter!) for 4 months.

Guess what, I have just made one for tomorrow!

Its my Dads Birthday and he and my sister, BIL and Niece are coming for the day.

I made a couple of Quiches for lunch and had some pastry left over. I use the same recipe I have for 30 odd years and it is very similar to the one quoted except it has half Ground Almonds and half Ground Rice. Oh and I got two large quiches and the bakwell out of a pound of pastry.

The recipe is from an old Hamlyn Colour Cookery Book I was given when I went away to College in 1974.
