    Default Clocks,clocks and.......clocks!

Anyone with ideas on clock based activities for a 20mth old who just loves searching for them and then stands looking at them saying 'clock, clock, clock'. I've provided play items that have a clock face ( with hands) on them - two big mullti activity trains ( both different) numerous Happy Land buildings that have clocks on their walls, clock shape sorter , two small hand held clock activities that create different sounds and our clock based calendar/ weather station plus singing one of his fave songs (non stop!) Hickory Dickory and going on 'hunt the clock' walks, so any new ideas would be most welcomed,I thought I would ask my lovely forum pals first before embarking on a google search, thanks in advance for your help xxxx

Not sure if its something you might like to try but ive just bought ds a clock which you build. It then works. Its see through too so you can see all the cogs working too? I got it in hawkins bazaar but im sure if there isnt one near you you could source it somewhere.

I havent looked at it but it will hopefully allow you to build it more than once too?

I had one about 6 years ago who loved clocks - we did same as you, walking round town spotting clocks in the bank, on the library, church etc and took photos of them. I also printed out the poem that goes

    Leisure
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

    William Henry Davies

and then we cut up magazines and made a collage with the poem in the middle then pictures about the poem all round it, and then added lots of different kinds of clocks from magazines and our town clock photos. I was lucky to have some National Trust and Country file magazines with lots of pictures of wildlife and also some pictures of children doing Scottish dancing for "watch her feet, how they can dance"

The children had heard the poem without realising it as it was currently being used for the Centre Parcs TV advert.

Just found a planning sheet I did for my level 3 - hopefully it has attached
