Default Children and Families Bill debated tomorrow

Labour have called the DfE ministerial team to officially announce the ratios have been dropped...so far there has been no confirmation that it will happen.

    Sharon Hodgson tweeted this today
'Emailed Nick Clegg earlier asking him to lead LibDems in voting to protect childcare ratios during #CFBill debate tomorrow. Fingers crossed!'

It makes me nervous they may not do so??? if it is 'dead in the water' lets give it a burial now!

I asked Sharon what time was the C&F Bill debate but did not get a reply...will find out and post but I am sure it will be on Parliament TV!

I wonder what Truss will say? Someone has to face up to their responsibilities and accept that mistakes have been made

Admitting that they have listened would have given them some credibility...running away from their duty is senseless!!!
But I doubt they take defeat well in that department...I want to see Gove's smirk wiped off his face!

Fingers crossed they come clean but they will undoubtedly try and put themselves in a beneficial light with some kind of spin!

Wait and see what happens next.

Come clean...very sad that 'pelting with eggs' is not allowed in the House of Commons!!
I could have thrown a few just for the stress they put us under and the millions of words written and the rest of the worry they caused...

I at least would hope that with the "millions of words written" that they can see that with or without formal qualifications in English and level 3 in childcare that we can argue against injustice and form ranks with other professionals. Hope their perception of us has changed if nothing else!

Just received a message from Sharon Hodgson researcher abut the debate...not sure what a partition is but looks as if they are none too willing to announce...

'No set time as the gov have refused to put partitions in to make sure we get to it, but we'll be tweeting'

Truss confirms ratios are dropped but blames Clegg...waffling on cost of childcae but not addressing Free Entitlement or bureaucracy...she cannot stop reading, can't say anything without that script???

Consultation on agencies will be after the trials...we need the transcript
Truss: 60 organizations interested in agencies but no names....
One MP said we are not professional enough to decide on ratios...what an insult !!

I understood him to be referring to the backdown on ratios and saying that by not giving us the choice ourselves it was like saying we were not professional enough.

I thought a few members pointed out some definite issues with ET's proposal. Sharon was great and really drove home that ET hadn't listened to those who mattered.

Still not really the wiser on agencies or how she plans to reduce fees. Glad someone mentioned how Important ofsted inspections are too.

Hopefully the transcript will be available tomorrow!
I thought ET looked rather dejected at times and so she should be

We were cheering Sharon on here !

Was it Meg Hillier the Hackney MP who spoke so well after her and raised even more concerns about agencies?

Truss sidestepped every question - and what she keeps spouting is old hat. I just wish there had been more people there to challenge her! Where on earth were they all?

Truss sidestepped every question where she could not go back and answer from her script...at times she was actually lost

Still wanting to push with the agencies and the rest...she has learnt nothing!
I see what you mean AliceK...but we did show professionalism by refusing the ratios?
    This was tweeted by PLA
''Conservative backbencher suggests that professionals in EY sector "are not professional enough or good enough" to decide on ratios''

Good show and yes sad very few there

The voting on the ratios is taking place now...fingers crossed everyone!
