    Have you done it online? I think you will have to now as deadline has passed for paper returns. It should say in the final calculations summary - it works it all out for you so bit confused!!

    Yes done it on line I was a bit in front off my self didnt know they worked it out for you. First time done on line as the sent the wrong form out to fill in and didnt notice until too late, but thanks. When do you pay the bill is it this january.2012

    Sorry if I'm being stupid or wrong somehow but wouldn't you just work out how much tax you will have to pay, buy some really nice resources for the business and then claim that against tax rather than paying tax .. if that makes sense ..
    Like I saw some threads recently about people buying laptops etc

    It isn't always that simple.

    If you had a £1000 tax bill and you brought a £1000 laptop you wouldn't have a nil return and this only reduces your expenses - you would gain about £250 reduction in tax and NI

    Also you are talking about tax year 10/11 and not 11/12 so unless you are on top of it you wouldn't have time to purchase anything

    I pay tax but I always think that to pay tax I must have had the money to start off with

    If you log in to HMRC again it should tell you how much you have to pay and when, but yes, 2010/11 must be paid by 31 January 2012.
