Receipts for Diesel and Tax Help

Hi Everyone,

I am going to try and tackle the tax online myself this year, but need a wee bit of help. Stuch with the diesel receipts, when I go and fill up I get a receipt, so have loads of them, how do you work out the 40p mile thing. Also seen a list on here previous of all the things you can claim for but can't seem to find it. I am in Scotland just in case it is different. Can anyone help?

You don't need the fuel reciepts, you need to keep a written record of the miles you do (date, where to, amount of miles etc) and work it out from that. Its important to keep these records as this is what the I.R will ask to see if you are audited.
