    Default Tax payment

Just logged into my self assessment account to pay my July's tax payment and it says I'm in credit! I knew it would be adjusted a bit but haven't logged in since April so didn't expect that at all. Suddenly feel flush lol!

This makes me want to log in and see if I'm in credit, even thought I'm 100% sure I won't and shouldnt be, a bit like I'm always expecting the postman to deliver me some huge cheque from someone that I know I'm not expecting..there's always that irrational hope!!

Last year was first year I had to make a payment on account and this year I made a little less so I think the payment adjusts accordingly but I still haven't quite understood it all

I had this too but mine says I am in credit by £x but that this will be used to pay the £x amount due in Jan 2017 and at that point I will also have to make an additional payment of £12.40 x

:-) I logged on to make my payment on account yesterday and had to pay £100 less than I expected. Yay!

(And I still haven't submitted15/16 accounts- thats a job for August ;-) hopefully it won't go up again!)
