Default Do you have an accountant?

I am newly registered & have a family starting soon. I have never been self employed & not exactly sure how to go about it. I know I have to register as self employed. I have been writing down in a book what I have spent setting up the business & kept bills for over £10. I will also note down what the family pay me. Not sure how I work out what I would owe the tax man. Is it just easier to get an accountant?

    Many thanks

For the paperwork required I think an accountant is expensive.

Try either the Pacey or MM (haven't used this one but heard they are about the same) and follow the information they provide.

My accountant only charges me £90 to do my taxes each year and she puts that in as an expense too!

I think it's well worth it as she knows all the stuff you can 'tweak' you just need to shop around.
