  2. Childminders and agencies - the story so far...

    Ofsted Chief Inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw announced, in March 2012, that it was becoming too expensive to inspect childminders. This was the first indication of the changes ahead...

    In her paper ‘Affordable Quality’, published in May, 2012, Elizabeth Truss suggested that all childminders should be de-regulated from Ofsted and Local Authority control and linked instead with agencies which would be newly created through the country.

  4. Childminders reject agencies!

    Childminders are supporting a Twitter campaign rejecting agencies -

    The Government want to introduce agencies throughout the country, which will be self supporting which means they will need to bring lots of new childminders online to be sustainable.

    Childminders do not want agencies which will affect our sustainability!

  5. When it's wet in the garden

    This week the children have been a little unsettled - I think the weather does it to them sometimes! We love going outside and mostly they are really happy to potter around the garden but this week it has been very wet and the grass was a bit slippy which led to a couple of small tumbles.

    So, we have been bringing the outside into the house! We put down a big towel and covered it with leaves (all different colours, sizes and shapes) for the children to explore - some of the children ...
