  1. How long before my husband notices Im turning the dining room..................... ..

    into a winter wonderland.

    Im going with wednesday night as thats the next night he is here to eat with us.

  2. Fussyelmos Christmas Thingy

    Or to give it its proper name the Blue Peter Christmas Advent Crown.

    So there I was the other reminising about the christmas crafts that me and brother used to do.

    So what do you need

    4 wire coat hangers
    A husband to cut the tops of top of them
    String to attach them together.
    A teenager to hold the hangers together.
    Some tinsel and baubles - think the staff in poundland think Im decorating the street.

  3. Making christmad decoration - yes too early but lots to make

    So last night the children and I made christmas wreaths out of baubles.

    We fashioned a circle from a wire coat hanger (blue peter here we come.) And when I say circle it wouldnt win any mathematical competition but it was roundish.

    We then threaded baubles on (fine motor skills) added tinsel at the top and then threaded some ribbon to hang it from. It took 3 boxes of baubles from a pound shop.

  4. Yay for Childminders

    In town this week I saw a nursery group on an outing to look at a huge shop window decorated for Christmas. They were all walking along silently and all looked so glum. There was no chatter from the children and no interaction from the adults, no happy smiling faces - not one!. This should have been a lovely outing for them but there was no excitement, no spirit of adventure - just a nothingness that was quite sad to see.

  5. Dinosaurs ROAR

    As dinosaurs have become the preferred choice of a little boy here I started the day with a tray in the playroom with coco pops and chocolate flakes, in the centre was a plastic tub of water and lots of dinosaurs. "WOW roar" was the 2 year old boys initial response and he went straight to the tray. We talked about how the dinosaurs made a crunch like the leaves on the ground when we had walked to school. The 15 month old used spoons to scoop the mixture into the tub of water and into other ...
