Could someone please tell me the personal tax allowance for the financial year 2011 -12 please?
I've just seen on the budget something about £8105 and then £9205 for April 2013 but am confused as to which tax years these relate to ie is the £9205 for the tax year 2013-14 or 12 - 13

Haven't seen the budget stuff but knowing them I bet the change won't happen until April 2013!

I have Personal allowance for 2011-12 as £7,475

I have 2012-13 as £8, 105 but I think this has now been increased to over £9,000 no doubt Mr anchovy will confirm some figures for us.

Budget 2012: Personal tax allowance to rise

Low and middle income earners received a boost today as Chancellor George Osborne revealed the personal tax allowance will rise for the under 65s, but pensioners will lose out.

Anyone aged up to 64 currently pays no tax on the first £7,475 they earn, rising to £8,150 as planned in April. This threshold will now rise again, to £9,205, in April 2013.

Yes, just to confirm (and to correct a typo) here are the Personal Allowances:

2011/12 £7,475
2012/13 £8,105
2013/14 £9,205

and the thresholds for Class 4 NI (at 9% since April 2011)

2011/12 £7,225
2012/13 £7,605
2013/14 (will be announced in November 2012, probably just indexed by CPI)

Nothing really of significance in this Budget for childminders - the only big thing is the loss of some Child Benefit for couples where one person earns over £50,000, with all CB lost where one person earns over £60,000
