Hi, My ds nearly 8 has NF1 he is starting to get upset about other children noticing that he isn't as good at them when it comes to sports, writing and drawing. Today it was as in PE they had to see how many times they could bat a ball, DS got 3 and someone else got 22. I had tears over this. We have explained why he finds things hard and I have explained that even though I don't have NF like him and dh I find sport hard for a football loving boy this is hard to accept. So I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a book we/he can read.

Thanks Lou x

i have a book called "titch"....was bought for me when i was little but it is still available.

its a story about a little boy who always seems to be left behind by his bigger brother and sister. They have better bikes, better musical instruments until one day he has a seed. His big brother has a spade and his big sister has a big pot and titch has a tiny seed....

the end of the story shows how even though his seed was tiny....it grew to an enormous plant.

I don't know if it would be any good to you but I have a book called clever sticks which is about a chinese boy who cannot do his shoes up, or write his name, or put his apron on etc but he can eat biscuits with chopsticks.
