Has anyone seen any cheaper balance bikes recently? one of my mindees left his balance bike here for the last year and all the wee ones have loved it but its gone home to his house this weekend. have been looking online this afternoon and can only find ones that are about £50. i know mindees bike came from sports direct and was only £20 but they dont do them anymore.

Any ideas?

This is no help whatsoever, but I picked one up in fabulous condition from a car boot sale for £8! Guess you could put a request on freecycle, netmums, or similar?

Amazon had some cheaper ones at Christmas, or maybe try the local Free-Ads

Have you looked on ebay? I bought a lovely used peppa pig one off there for less than thirty pounds. You'VE just reminded me I need to get it out for the summer for my three year old mindee.

I got my daughter a john crane one from Play.com that was £60 reduced to £30, a wooden one. She loves it :)

Home Bargains had some in a few weeks ago, not sure how much they were though.

Get a 2nd hand "proper" bike, remove the pedals and lower the seat to its lowest position = instant balance bike!

The advantage being that it instantly converts back when they are ready for pedals.

Honestly it is just the same.

Prior to the car boot bargain we did this too, and in some ways it's better as the wheels seem more sturdy.
