linking next steps

Hi do i need to be linking my next steps to the eyfs as well, thanks

You need to be aware of how the Eyfs areas of learning and development impact on everything you do with children.

When you write your observations you go to the development matters section(s) for the child and note how their learning links.

Then you reflect on what that tells you about the child, what he knows and what he might like to explore next.

Then you consider whether it would be appropriate to think about some next steps in the child's learning journey.

A lot of ideas for next steps are in the development matters documents - so it will be a natural progression to show that they link because they are directly following your observations.

I think the next steps are my weak point. Does every observation have to have a next steps
