mindees funeral..the worst thing ever

I've just got back from the funeral of an ex mindee.He was just 9.I had him till i moved 4 1/2 year ago.Honestly i think it was the saddest most heartwrenching experience i have ever had.He had a little white coffin with man utd posters on and a photo of him on the end from when he was about 4.They played bright eyes for him as they brought him in and his two big brothers carried him with his two uncles.His class mates sang ...Rule the world
by take that.It was so so sad.His poor mam could hardly walk.
just cant stop the tears :(

I can't imagine anyone ever getting over the loss of a child... it's not the way things are supposed to happen. To attend a child's funeral must be horrific. xx

It is so, so sad.

When I went to an ex-mindee's funeral last year they played a video montage along to the Bruno Mar's song Just the Way You Are. I can't listen to the song now without getting tears in my eyes.

But the saddest memory is of hearing her mum's cries as the photos came up. It was haunting :(

My dear daughter passed away suddenly aged just two years old. That was 25 years ago and it is still etched on my mind like it was yesterday. One thing I found great comfort in was having caring friends and family around me. I pray this poor family will find the strength to cope with this through having a supportive group of people around them. And you must also take some comfort knowing that people around you care about you too.

I don't have mindees with me this week, but will be giving lots of cuddles.

After reading this post, it has made me feel quite emotional towards my own kids, I sat for about 10 minutes at my sons door watchiing him sleep and just cried. I don't think I can hug my kids hard enough.

My thoughts have been with you since your first post, and will continue to be with you and his family xxx
