Had an enq for autumn for a college student, probably one full day a week, depending on timetables - she is under impression that she has to pay childcare costs herself but I am sure she should get help for them as she is on benefits - anyway, if we go ahead and do contracts and the college do pay, is it then the college I need to do a contract with?

No I would say the mother of the child as it is up to her to sort out payment details and the child is her responsibility.

I think some places it has to be a full time course before they get help. I know that is the case with one of my families. I would definitely want the contract with the pareant

Not all colleges can pay.....it depends upon if they have funds in the kitty iyswim.

The government allocates them a certain amount and if they have already spent it/promised it then she may not get it.

Also the college only pays 90% of your bill.

She will have to find the other 10% herself!

Im not 100% but my sister did this with college and she had to pay herself and the college refunded so i would def do the contract with the parents

Good luck

keep the contract with the parent, she's the primary carer :)

cheers peeps, think I might give this one a miss it sounds like it might be a bad one for money :panic: I would want paying monthly in advance for only one day a week and I doubt she could on benefits. Think I'll steer clear now.
