hi all, i have been asked by a parent to help support turn taking and learning to wait with their child who comes to me. I'm sure its obvious and i'm having a blank day but i was wondering what activities i could do to help support the child with this instead of me saying "you need to take turns" or "you need to wait" i'm thinking there must be things i can do with the child to build on this.
any thoughts?

Games like pop-up-pirate where you have to take turns.

Sorry have to rush now.

Board games, card games like snap.
Making a cake altogether where everyone takes turns to stir mixture.
Throwing/rolling/kicking a ball around a group.
building a block tower together.
Constant praise & encouragement...good waiting, good sharing, your turn, my turn, freds turn etc.

Depending upon age an egg timer can work too to share particular toys.

At snack time you could have a big plate of fruit or whatever you are providing and pass it around the mindees, for them to take one piece at a time and pass it to the next one

ball games where you have to wait for other person to catch it before they can give it back again.

You could adapt most activities, just have one of everything, one glue spreader between two etc

how about an egg timer so that if they want a particular toy then when the sand runs out its your turn
