I've been trying to get myself sorted so that I can purposefully use "meaningful vocabulary" with my young mindees. This entails basically choosing words that are relevent and meaningful to the theme or activity you are currently doing and using them often to encourage mindees to begin using them, as well. I received some paperwork about it from my development worker and thought I'd share. I'd also like to see if you can think of any other words to fit in or areas that I have missed out.

That looks great Tatia. I dont know if they are any help to you but there are lots of word mats on Sparklebox that cover lots of subjects. I have been using the mini beast, transport and plant ones recently and have found them useful.

Positional language is on there somewhere, Miffy, under Maths definitely and perhaps a few other places. I was typing it for my planning folders anyway and just thought I'd pop it on here.:)

Annie, I'll def have a look at Sparklebox, thanks for that.
