Programme info says 'with nurseries and childminders costing families up to a third of their income, and working mums feeling squeezed out of the workplace. Panorama investigates the costs of childcare' yikes should be interesting.

Will definitely be watching. What I can't understand is on the BBC News webpage it says that in London childare costs are higher, which I can agree with, what I can't understand is how they say the average in London is £119 per week for a child under 2 years and that is supposed to be up to a third higher than elsewhere in the UK. If that were so then I would'nt have classed this as high. Am I reading it wrong!! are they going on a part time week which a lot of childcare enquiries are now, it surely can't be for a full week.

The figures quoted have got to be a misprint, it costs about £38 per day for a nursery place in Wiltshire never mind London!
