I've just received my Trio newsletter and it says that all childminders must attend generalist safeguarding training every 3 years, they also advise that we attend a specialist safeguarding training course as well.

Is this what you mean?

Here it's an introductory course or level 1 but if accredited it's level2

I cant see anywhere where ofsted say what level you should have...but my DO says it must be level 2, I have just done an online course which I think is a level 1 and she doesnt think this is good enough.

I asked my tutor on the Pre reg course about this last night. She said that from what we covered last night and in our next session, we don't need to do a separate safeguarding course.

Your local authority (early years department) might have set different rules - ofsted say every 3 years but on Merseyside its every year we do a 3 hour refresher session.

Yes it is a LA thing for us - after the level 1 and 2 we can do the refresher if we haven't lapsed
