I have a mindee 18months that does not speak or babble. He has been referred for speech and language therapy. I have incorporated ideas of how to support him in his individual planning which is in his learning journey, but do I need to do a care plan for him? If so does anyone have an example of one I could use please.

Many thanks xx

In the past I have had a child with this type of issue.

I have written an individual learning plan of his day with me noting the times when we communicate together and times when the child free plays.

This helps me to focus my time better for the child to meet his needs - and also think about how i can accommodate all the children by eg having a daily song session, reading books as part of our other activities etc.

I write care plans for medical issues such as eczema, asthma etc not speech and language.
