am looking after a 13 month old lo, have just changed lo's nappy and it is like water with bits of food in it (sorry for the detail!). parents work over an hour away - what shall i do? text and say that if any more they will have to come back, say they have to come back now....have 2 other lo's here today too.......hate this part of the job!

I usually let one go by but if it happens again or baby is distressed then yes they need to come.

I would also keep at least 1 nappy to show parents in case you get the old chestnut 'he was fine when he got home'...

Hth :D

Me and parent have yellow and red cards lol.

I will text to to say "We have a yellow card situation, X has ....." she then knows to tell her boss she MAY need to drop and go... If it is really bad I issue a "red" straight away. Just makes it easier rather than texting and explaining, then saying you need to come home.
